Hey look, there's a bald guy in a painting over there. Actually, Tiananmen Square is the world's largest square and the People's Republic of China was proclamed here in 1949 by Mao Zedong at the Tiananmen gate which features his portrait. When he died in 1976, one million people gathered in the square and his body can be seen today on open display in the mausoleum.
